Books By David Sedaris
Thursday, April 17th, 2008David Sedaris is an American humorist and regular contributor to National Public Radio. Sedaris rose to fame after his account of working as Crumpet the elf in a Macy’s at Christmas was first broadcast on NPR in 1992.
Sedaris went on to publish his first collection of essays and short stories, Barrel Fever, in 1994. Since that time, he has published four more essay collections: Naked (1997), Holidays on Ice (1997), Me Talk Pretty One Day (2000), and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim (2004). Each of these collections has become a New York Times Best Sellers.
Sedaris has been called the most intelligent New Yorker since Dorothy Parker. A large number of his essays focus on his personal life: his family relationships, his middle class upbringing, his various jobs, and his life in France with his partner, Hugh Hamrick.
Sedaris’ books are witty and intelligent, full of humorous self-deprecation, and often slyly satirical.
